Meet Schedules
You will see additional information to this newsletter about upcoming competitions, below. Please save these, as they have directions, times, etc. for each meet.

Uniforms
Uniforms should be arriving any day, Liz will hand them out in practice as soon as they come in. If they are not in by the first meet the kids can wear a different leotard or shorts & T shirt (check with Jarod for the boys) for their first meet.

Fundraising
Click here for information about Canning at Shaws on November 15th. The wrapping paper fundraiser went well. We had $3,864.50 in gross sales. With the 50% profit margin that equals $1,932.25 in profit!! Kristen Padilla of the Level 5 team was the big winner with $227 in profits! Congratulations to all who participated! As soon as the “stuff” arrives, the Level 8 parents will sort and bag everything and they will be handed out at practice. Credits for the wrapping paper fundraiser will show up on your December bills and can be applied to any fees connected with gymnastics. Remember, any team member can do any fundraiser, we assign a team to help organize each one, but all levels are free to participate.

East Bay "Canning" Fundraiser, Shaw's of Barrington, Saturday, November 15th

The next fundraiser is going to be "Canning" at Shaw's of Barrington on November 15th from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. for the morning shift and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. for the afternoon shift. The level 9 - 10 parents are coordinating this fundraiser. The total profits will be put into an account and divided up based on the total hours worked. Your account will be credited for the hours you and your team member worked. For example, if we collect $400 and have 40 people work, then each person will receive $10. You can use the profits for upcoming meet fees, tuition, plane fares for competitions, etc. We will be setting up cards at the gym for each parent to record their own account credits.

  1. Please be sure to sign up when your child is not in practice. I scheduled it so all gymnasts should have time to eat and change between canning and practice. Optionals should sign up for the morning shift and compulsories for the afternoon.
  2. Please wear your team warm up suits or sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc. so that the East Bay Gymnastics name is on the kids who will be hoding the cans
  3. We will need two parents for each hour at Shaws and will divide the team members up to cover both doors. We don't want to miss anyone coming or going into the store!!
  4. Please donate any large coffee cans you have at home. If you could get them to Rene Curry that would be great, then I can clean and decorate them for the "Canning".
  5. If you are new to East Bay, we have started fundraising this year to include all competing gymnasts. The goal is to help raise money to help the parents pay for the meet fees, and traveling costs for upcoming competitions. These fundraisers are totally optional. If you sign up for it then you will benefit from it, an equal share will go towards you account. If you do not sign up for it, then you will not receive any money from it. So it is totally up to you and what your time schedule allows.

This is an easy and fun fundraiser! All you have to do is sign up and show up during your hours! There are no costs up front, so anything collected is profit!

If you have any questions, please call or email Rene Curry 683- 4467.
